About Aspire High Youth Development Program

Aspire High Youth Development Inc. is the REVOLUTION of tomorrow’s college acceptance among low-income and first generation high school students. Through our innovated programs we are able to prepare our youth to successfully address the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century global workplace. 

Our programs nurture an inclusive environment where youth can explore their identities and celebrate diversity. As well as developing both moral and performance character needed for success in school, work and life.

Designed to steer the youth in a positive direction by involving them in new activities, giving them guidance, and assisting them with developing goals.

Available Programs

Programs that are offered to students as a part of the Aspire High Youth Development Program
  • Middle school and High school
  • Students receive hands-on support from our mentors
  • Consistent set of lesson/workshops to teach each of the 18 character/leadership traits
  • College readiness
  • Engages students with innovative, fun, and hands-on learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math
  • SAT preparation 
  • Field trips to colleges/universities
  • Fitness and character education 
  • Teaches leadership principles
  • Develops confidence and encourages to help prevent and reduce obesity 
  • Fostering academic, social and emotional growth
  • Designed to steer the youth in a positive direction by involving them in new activities, giving them guidance, and assisting them with developing goals
  • Increase youth self-esteem and emotional well-being, which ultimately results in altered patterns of behavior and leads to a successful future for our youths
  • Empowering young leaders by giving them complete creative control and responsibilities that stimulate personal and communal growth
  • Engaging in meaningful conversations about the importance of justice and peace
  • Introducing students to different forms of creative expression such as sketch designing, painting, journaling, creative writing and spoken word
  • Providing students a safe space to be a part of a community while still owning their individuality

Did you know?

  • More than 1/3 of 5-19 year olds in the U.S. are first generation students
  • Only 25 percent of first-generation students attend four year institutions 
  • A national evaluation founded that over 40 percent of students attending 21st Century Community After-school programs improved their reading and math grades, and that those who attended more regularly were more likely to make gains
  • Only about 50 percent of teen mothers receive a high school diploma by 22 years of age, whereas approximately 90 percent of women who do not give birth during adolence graduate from high school
